New Brunswick's health minister is considering a virtual waiting room for non-urgent ER patients, modeled after a successful Ontario pilot that allowed people to wait at home and receive text alerts. This initiative aims to reduce "unacceptable" ER wait times, which are currently exacerbated by hospital overcrowding and a shortage of long-term care beds. Following the departure of 12 firefighters due to workplace complaints, the Municipality of Tantramar is hiring an external investigator and adding new management roles to its protective services (Sackville fire department probe will lead to action: mayor | Telegraph-Journal). The mayor has assured residents, who have raised public safety concerns, that the investigation will result in a "concrete and firm course of action."

  

The New Brunswick government is contributing $6 million towards a new intergenerational community complex in Rothesay, which will include a new ice surface, a walking track, and space for a hub for adults aged 50 and older (Rothesay, N.B., to get $6-million community complex).   

More than 60 New Brunswick arenas are nominated for the Kraft Hockeyville contest, competing for a $250,000 grand prize for rink upgrades and the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game (NB arenas compete for $250K Kraft Hockeyville prize | Telegraph-Journal). Nominations close on March 1, with the winner scheduled to be announced on April 4.

The recall affects 1.36 kg packages with a best before date of May 5, 2026; no illnesses have been reported, but consumers are advised to discard or return the product.
