What to do with your real Christmas tree after the holidays?
City of Dieppe:
Real Christmas trees will be collected on one day only, Wed Jan 7, 2026.
Town of Riverview
Put your real Christmas tree at the curb on your trash day the week of January 5. Please undecorate it first. *Sometimes your tree is picked up a few days after your regular trash day.
City of Moncton:
You can leave your tree out this week and next week (Dec 29 and Jan 5 week) on your regular garbage day. A separate truck picks up trees.
You can also drop off your tree at these places (until Jan 31):
🌲Mapleton Park parking lot (Gorge Road entrance)
🌲Crossman Centre / Kay Arena parking lot
🌲Ball Field off Crowley Farm Rd
🌲Moncton Coliseum parking lo
🌲Former Dud James Arena parking lot

If possible, consider leaving the tree in your backyard as a Winter home for birds. More on that HERE.
There is a cookbook called How To Eat your Christmas Tree. Please consult your physician before embarking on any new diet, especially one that involves tree-eating. I cannot vouch for the deliciousness or safety of these recipes, especially if you have dietary restrictions. For such recipes as Christmas-Cured Fish, Christmas Tree Pickles, or Christmas Tree Ice Cream, see THIS LINK from Smithsonian Magazine.
