An Air Canada flight from Toronto to Moncton was stopped on the tarmac after a ground crew member was accidentally locked in the cargo hold. The employee was rescued safely after passengers heard screaming, but the incident resulted in a flight cancellation and a delay of over 30 hours. This happened on Dec. 13.

A VIA Rail train traveling from Halifax to Montreal was halted in Quebec due to a freight train derailment, causing significant delays for its 90 passengers. Passengers were provided with food, drinks, and accommodations before continuing their journey by bus. No injuries reported.

Following a tip from a gas-station employee, RCMP are investigating the fraudulent use of stolen Government of New Brunswick fuel cards, which were used to purchase over $6,000 worth of gas (Gas station employee tips off cops to stolen government fuel cards | Telegraph-Journal). Three suspects were arrested on January 5, and police are now urging local businesses to be vigilant about fraudulent credit card activity- more stolen cards might be out there.
