A New Brunswick investigation into a higher-than-normal cluster of neurological illnesses has concluded that environmental substances like herbicides and heavy metals are likely not the cause of the symptoms. The final report does not identify what is making patients sick but suggests they may have known, diagnosable diseases and recommends a process for second opinions.

To combat severe hospital overcrowding, patients at the Moncton Hospital waiting for long-term care must now accept the first available nursing home bed, even if it is not their preferred choice. This aims to free up beds, as these patients occupy a significant portion of hospital space.
