Crews continue to fight a nearby wildfire. Maple Hills/ Irishtown/ Lakeville residents still might need evacuate. Have a kit bag ready with ID and medicine. Make a plan for pets and animals.
*Evacuation will be announced on the radio and an AlertReady message will go out on Radio/ TV/ and cell phone.
** If you leave your home as a precaution please put a note on your door so first responders know.
*** There is NO EVACUATION ORDER AT THIS TIME but here is the likely Evacuation Zone:
Eastern boundary: Weisner Road
Northern boundary: Cape Breton Road
Southern boundary: Lakeville
Including: Lakeside Estates Mini Home Park
**** Scotty note: we don't have info about where evacuation centers might be, but in the past they have included churches, schools, community centers/ arenas.
Provincial forests and Moncton wooded parks are off-limits until conditions improve. We need a lot of rain. Please be vigilant and fire safe in your day-to-day activities.

A Comfort Centre is now open at the Maple Hills Moncton Kia Centre (2603 Route 115, Irishtown *former Irishtown Community Centre) is open today (Aug 12th) from 11a to 6p offering bottled water/ washrooms/ mobile charging/ air conditioning.

Note re parks/ trails/ and more from the City of Moncton:
Until further notice:
Effective immediately - Irishtown Nature Park and Mapleton Park are closed.
All trails in Centennial Park are closed, but open areas including the pool, playgrounds, splashpad, and other facilities (i.e. lawn bowling, tennis, Rocky Stone field) will remain open.
Riverfront Trail, between the West Main traffic circle and the Gunningsville Bridge, is closed.
Barbecuing in parks is prohibited – charcoal barbecues in Centennial Park will no longer be available for use.
Complete ban on all open fires - no fire pits or outdoor burning of any kind.
We ask that residents take extreme caution when using any of our non-wooded trails, open parks and greenspaces.
Report any signs of fire or smoke immediately (911).
Fireworks are not permitted at any time.
Do not toss cigarette butts on the ground.
Avoid parking on dry grass.
Respect park and trail closures and do not ignore or pass barricades.
