Yesterday at 12:12 on Aug the 12th, Taylor Swift announced her twelfth album. If you're not a super-fan-swifty© here's what happens: people scour the background and every frame of the video looking for clues. Will Taylor Swift return to Country music? Is it going to be a complete left-turn musical style?? Will it be similar to her last album?
Some of the clues are:
- in the background there are modern art books - does that indicate a new artistic direction?
- the color orange shows up and fans are saying that orange is usually associated with jazz or electronic music. Could it be that?
Fans get serious about all the symbolic stuff. All we really learned from the announcement is that her album will be called "The Life of a Showgirl".
Everything else is speculation (yes, including the theory that Taylor may go Modern Jazz).
No release date for this new album yet. Buuuuuttttttttttttt...
The Australian version of Marie Claire Magazine did some investigating: People on Reddit think it'll come out on Friday (August 15th). Marie Claire says "there’s solid evidence she’ll drop the new album before August 30." That's because the Grammy Award eligibility deadline is August 30th.
BTW, this was a commercial-within-a-commercial because the album announcement was part of a promo for the Kelce Bros podcast (New Heights). The Taylor episode is out today (Wed 13 Aug) at 7p Eastern.
