Codiac Transpo has announced a modified holiday schedule from Dec. 24, 2025, to Jan. 1, 2026, with no bus service on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day (Codiac Transpo Announces 2025-2026 Holiday Schedule | City of Moncton). Service will end early on Christmas Eve, while a special free New Year's Eve service will be offered on select routes from 6 p.m. until 2:40 a.m.

Basketball New Brunswick is implementing new guidelines to address a rise in abusive behavior from parents and coaches towards its referees, many of whom are teenagers. To curb the misconduct and protect officials, the association will now mandate that a dedicated gym supervisor be present to monitor behavior before any youth game can begin. (https://www.cbc.ca/lite/story/9.7026428)

The Hartland Covered Bridge will close to vehicles for about five months starting January 5 so they can do pedestrian walkway repairs. It'll stay open to foot traffic (Big projects on and around N.B.’s Hartland Covered Bridge in 2026). Separately, a government-funded project will redevelop the surrounding riverfront with upgraded amenities, with that work expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
