Moncton City Council has approved a consultant's report recommending $31 million in upgrades for Elmwood Drive and McLaughlin Drive to manage future traffic flow as the area's population grows. Economic consultant advises Riverview council that population growth is essential to support the local business community. Mount Allison University is considering re-establishing its Bachelor of Education program, which was last offered in 1997, to address the growing student population in New Brunswick's K-12 system. NB Power exec has stated that a proposed 400-megawatt natural gas plant is the most cost-effective option to ensure grid stability and meet a projected power shortfall by 2028. Colleen Jones, a world champion curler and longtime CBC broadcaster, has died at the age of 65 following a cancer diagnosis.
