If you were at Fundy National Park on the weekend you might've seen a rescue operation going on. It was a mock search/ training session for volunteers with search and rescue teams, and also members from RCMP/ Parks Canada/ NB EMO and paramedics-in-training taking part. The Dog Stick Library at Mill Creek Nature Park in Riverview was in the news over the weekend. It's pretty much what it sounds like; a little lending library, but instead of books for humans, this library has a bunch of nice fetching sticks for dogs. It's a fun project from Riverview's community recreation dept. Couple of things: no library card needed/ no fines for late returns... also it might prevent some pooches from heading into the brush to find a stick and that would decrease the chance of ticks!
