*UPDATE* Ticketmaster Data Breach: Things to know if you use Ticketmaster...

SUMMARY:

Somebody got into the Ticketmaster cloud database and accessed credit card info. Ticketmaster says affected customers should cancel their credit card. If you used a different kind of card, contact your bank. Use two-factor authentication. This impacts customers in Canada, USA, and Mexico. Ticketmaster has been emailing affected people.

*UPDATE:

How to check your credit score https://nomoredebts.org/blog/credit-scores-ratings/how-to-get-a-credit-report-in-canada

Also, Here’s what you can do to spot identity theft:

"Track what bills you owe and when they’re due. If you stop getting a bill, that could be a sign that someone changed your billing address.
Review your bills. Charges for things you didn’t buy could be a sign of identity theft. So could a new bill you didn’t expect.
Check your bank account statement. Withdrawals you didn’t make could be a sign of identity theft.
Get and review your credit reports. Accounts in your name that you don’t recognize could be a sign of identity theft. Here’s how you can get your free credit
"

GOOD TO KNOW:

. Ticketmaster is paying for identity theft monitoring for Canadian customers.

. Check if your email has been involved in a data breach at https://haveibeenpwned.com/

Gas Prices...
Gas and Diesel went up around 3 cents last night. (Gas was 173.6, Gas now is 176.6) (Diesel was 176.8, Diesel now is 179.9)
.
The Government of NB has officially begun taking action to dissolve the Anglo East District Education Council (the DEC is the group who oversees the school district with a mission of providing "quality education and support to all students within the Anglophone East School District.")
How we got here: the Anglo East DEC disagrees with the Provincial Gov's 'Policy 713'... that's the policy centered around gender identity and chosen names or pronouns.
Basically, the education council doesn't want to adhere to the policy because they feel it violates student rights/ the Province wants the policy enforced in schools to protect parent rights (*paraphrase)
Dissolving the DEC is a bit of a process and the Province has put that process in motion... meanwhile (quote from the article) "the DEC is prepared to defend its integrity through all available channels,"

Facebook Marketplace Scam Awareness!

CBC News has a story about a lady in Fredericton who sold something on Marketplace and instead of the person paying her $30, they stole $3000 (*or tried to) from her account. How? It seems like she received a message about the e-transfer with a link... when she clicked that link, the lady thought she was logging into her banking site but the criminal was actually able to steal that banking log-in info (and steal money.)
