A new report on homelessness in Moncton has 26 action items for governments, non-profits, and businesses to address the crisis. A couple of the recommendations are: using surplus government land for affordable housing and granting "peace officer" status to the city's community safety officers. An inmate who escaped from the Southeast Regional Correctional Centre in Shediac on February 12 has been arrested in Moncton after being on the loose for more than a month. (N.B. inmate after being on the loose for a month).

   

The NB gov is investing $96.5 million to build a new K-8 school in Moncton which will replace the Sunny Brae Middle School and Forest Glen School. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027, with the new facility for over 990 students expected to open by September 2030 (New K-8 school to be built in Moncton). New school to be built next to current Forest Glen School on Keenan Drive.

New Brunswick's virtual health care provider, eVisitNB, will have its contract extended to July 1, using a 90-day transition clause to ensure a seamless handoff to a new provider. (eVisitNB to keep providing virtual health service until July: Holt | Telegraph-Journal).

 

New Brunswick is offering a spring COVID-19 booster shot to high-risk individuals, including seniors and the immunocompromised, with the campaign running from April 7 to June 26. The NB Youth Orchestra's performance of "The Hockey Sweater" happens at Tidal Church in Moncton on March 28th. More info on the Air Canada flight from Montreal that collided with a fire truck upon landing at New York's LaGuardia Airport.
