Mount Allison University in Sackville is closed today. 
Here's the note on their website: "Out of an abundance of caution, Mount Allison University will be closed on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 due to a concerning message found on campus referencing this date. All classes and on-campus activities are cancelled for the day on Wednesday, February 11, 2026"  (Mount A closed Wednesday due to 'concerning message' | Telegraph-Journal) and see (https://mta.ca/). The message hasn't been made public. The university and RCMP are investigating.  

 
A piece of concrete reportedly fell from the Route 112/Route 114 underpass in Riverview on Tuesday. That's Findlay Blvd / Coverdale Rd. No injuries or vehicle damage were reported (Chunk of concrete fell from Riverview overpass: DTI | Telegraph-Journal). The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure dispatched a bridge crew to assess the structure, and the scene was cleared by late afternoon according to the Times and Transcript.

In a Statement on virtual care, New Brunswick's Health Minister John Dornan affirmed that virtual care services will continue for all residents. Following a comprehensive review and a competitive bidding process, a new vendor has been selected to provide a more integrated, patient-focused service. The government's goal is a seamless transition by April 1, with assurances that the new provider has strong Canadian roots and will securely store all patient records in Canada.

A mass shooting at a high school in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., has left 10 people dead, including the suspected shooter (Tumbler Ridge shooting: 10 dead, including suspect: RCMP). Police discovered victims at both the school and a related residence and believe the suspect died from a self-inflicted injury.
  
Following a threat from U.S. President Donald Trump to block the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge unless the U.S. is compensated, Prime Minister Mark Carney said he had a "positive" call with Trump to clarify the project's funding and shared ownership (Carney says he had ‘positive’ call with Trump on Gordie Howe bridge threat | Globalnews.ca). The bridge is co-owned by Canada and Michigan. It's scheduled to open later this year.

  • Luge (12:53 p.m. & 1:44 p.m. ET):

    • It's a big day for doubles luge, with the women's final at 12:53 p.m. ET, followed by the men's final at 1:44 p.m. ET.
  • Figure Skating (1:30 p.m. ET):

    • The ice dance competition concludes with the free skate. Three Canadian pairs will be competing: Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier, Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha, and Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac.

Canadian figure skating pair Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps have been medically cleared to compete at the Milan Cortina Games after Stellato-Dudek recovered from a recent head injury (Top Canadian pair to compete at Games - National | Globalnews.ca).
