Oscar Nominations 2026: Snubs and Surprises!

They announced the Academy Award Nominations and here are a few highlights:

- Surprise: Kate Hudson got nominated for Song Sung Blue.

- Snub: Ariana Grande didn't get nominated for Wicked: For Good.

- Surprise: Sinners broke an Oscars record getting 16 nominations, which makes it the best movie of all times I guess? How could an OK movie get so many noms, it has to be the greatest movie of all times.

BTW, I had a bit of a wrassling match with this movie.
1) I have face blindness/ prosopagnosia so the whole movie I thought the cousins were played by different actors... it turns out it was the same actor!? Now I have to re-watch the thing.

2) The ending. ***SPOILERS*** In light of the ending, most of the movie happened for no reason?! The bad guy just decides not to be angry anymore. The whole time we think uh oh, that bad guy is gonna get everybody, then he's just like, naw, I'm cool. A LOT of the action is based on the bad guy trying to take everybody out, but then decides not to?? That really bugged me. But I'm the only one I guess. DOn't worry, I'll bring it up to my therapist.

We'll see how it shakes down on Sunday, March 15th at 8p Atlantic. Conan O'Brien returns as host.

- ICYMI, Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” getting 16 nominations,means it has the most nominations of all time and is 2 noms better than the 14 nominations films “All About Eve,” “Titanic” and “La La Land.”

- Paul Thomas Anderson's "One Battle After Another" got 13 nominations.

- "Marty Supreme," "Frankenstein" and "Sentimental Value" got nine.
