Here's what happened on the Academy of Country Music Awards last night:
- Ella Langley never had a nomination before this year, and she was the
most-nominated artist at the awards. The ACM website lists her as winning 5 trophies - the most of the night- including for her duet with Riley Green (“You
Look Like You Love Me”)... it won Best Single and Music Event of the Year. We
already knew that Ella also won Best New Female Artist because they
announced that one in April. Ella also got a trophy for Visual Media of the Year for “You look like you love me”.
- It was also a great night for Lainey Wilson too She won 4 trophies including Entertainer of the Year for the 2nd year in a row. Lainey also got Top Female Artist and Album of the Year.
- The Alan Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award went to... Alan Jackson.
- Song of the Year was Cody Johnson's “Dirt Cheap.”
- Male artist of the year was Chris Stapleton.
- Duo of the year was Brooks & Dunn.
- Old Dominion got ACM Group of the Year for the eighth consecutive time, which passes Rascal Flatts for most consecutive Group wins.
- Best new the male artist went to Zach Top (announced in April).
BTW, the show was free to watch live, but to stream the show now it looks like you need to have Amazon Prime.

Notes:

- The actual awards happen in Frisco, Texas, and will be hosted by Reba.
- Ella Langley has never been nominated before and has the most noms! (eight nominations.)
- We already know that Ella is the best new female artist, they announced that one in April. Best new the male artist went to Zach Top.
- Controversy?: no noms for Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” even though it won two Grammy Awards in February. Also, folks thought Miranda Lambert’s “Postcards from Texas” should prolly be nominated and it was not.
- Cool: Keith Urban will be awarded the Triple Crown Award, given artists who've won the ACM for best new artist plus artist of the year, plus entertainer of the year.
