A Dieppe man has been acquitted of armed robbery charges related to a 2025 Riverview credit union hold-up. A judge ruled there was insufficient evidence to place the man at the scene (Judge acquits man on credit union robbery charges | Telegraph-Journal). The fellow's father previously pleaded guilty to involvement in hold-up and is now serving a six-year prison sentence (Judge acquits man on credit union robbery charges | Telegraph-Journal).
On Friday, RCMP posted an update on social media thanking the public for their assistance in the arrest of a 28-year-old Moncton man. Authorities had been searching for the man since his escape from custody while at a Moncton health institution. That escape happened in May (N.B. RCMP arrest Moncton man after escaping custody).
Prime Minister Carney in Halifax today to make an announcement (likely) about who'll be awarded the contract for Canada's next submarine fleet. It seems like it's between a German or South Korean company.
This deal will be worth billions, with purchase and maintenance possibly totaling ~100 billion dollars.
