Scotty

Moncton Weather: Rainy. Windy. High 13.

Rain seems to be what we need; the whole province was in the red when they updated the fire index yesterday.
Also, there was a forest fire in the Riverside-Albert area on Sunday and water bombers were called in.
According to reports, there are no homes in the area, but there are some cottages.
Firefighters from Alma, Hillsborough and Riverview were at the scene yesterday, and Natural Resources members. As of last night the fire is listed as "Contained". (https://nbdnr.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/7bb8645cf75c4aa2b7a43a3123f9e17f#locale%3Den-ca)

Similar to something that happened earlier this year, Horizon Health has announced that labour and birth services will be unavailable at Upper River Valley Hospital until Monday, June 1st at 8a because they won't have medical and nursing resources needed for emergency C sections. That means some expectant moms will have to drive to the hospital in Fredericton (which could be ~ an hour away). In April, a couple of moms had babies born before they actually got into the hospital.
