icymi, the MTV music awards happened last night (Sun Sept 7 2025) and included an official Country Music category for the first time. Megan Maroney won the first-ever MTV Moon Person Trophy for Country Music!

Note: Taylor Swift did not win for Artist of the Year (that went to Lady Gaga) and Taylor wasn't at the awards show ... she actually put out a statement after there was so much speculation about whether she was going or not. Taylor's new album comes out next month, so she'll be at all the award shows next cycle, probably.
