The Emmy Awards happen on September 14th. The nominations were just announced.
Scotty note: couldn't finish the White Lotus - what was up with that gross plot line?
Notes:
- most-nominated: Severance (Apple TV+) got 27 noms.
- The Penguin (HBO) got 24 nominations.
- Seth Rogen's new comedy The Studio (Apple TV+) received 23 nominations. *That's a record-breaking amount of nominations for a new comedy show... previous record-holder was Ted Lasso*
- The White Lotus (HBO) also received 23 nominations.
- another brand new show that got a lot of nominations: medical drama The Pitt (MAX/ HBO MAX/ HBO) got 13 nominations.
Interesting:
- The Bear continues to get put in the "Comedy" category. Why are they living a lie? Fix this loophole, TV Academy!
- no nominations for Squid Game S2
- only 1 nom for The Handmaid's Tale in it's final season
- Bridgerton S3 didn't get acting nominations
- Andor gets recognized as a best drama, but none of the actors get nominated?
Dan Murrell has a great breakdown...
