Our First Ever Yarn Drive Blog Post! It's a Yarn Drive!!!!

The folks at Downey Home Hardware in Riverview are collecting yarn for the nice people at Parkland Riverview Retirement Living. Look for the collection bin, drop some yarn in there, and the folks in the Parkland Knitting Club will turn that yarn into hats and mittens for kids at BGC Riverview (new name for the Boys and Girls Club)
By my calculations this is a win-win-win situation. A TRIPLE WIN!!!

Thanks to Victoria who sent us this note:
"My name is Victoria Ménard, I am a student at UdeM and I was wondering if there was any way you could help me get the word out on a project that I am currently working on. Through my work at Downey’s Home Hardware in Riverview, I have put a yarn collection bin at the front entrance of our store to collect yarn to give to the seniors at Parkland Retirement Living. The seniors at the retirement home have started a knitting club and their focus is to knit hats and mittens and from there they will donate the items to the kids at The Boys and Girls Club in Riverview just in time for winter to keep the kids warm."

Message to the Knitting Club: if you have extra yarn after hats and mitts maybe you could try knitting some yorts?
